Classical music made from scary robot voices

Is it Halloween time yet? Kerrith Livengood's piece for strings "This Is My Scary Robot Voice" asks the musicians to play like they’re sounding out phrases such as “This is my nor-mal speak-ing voice,” “This is my or-din-ar-y qui-et speak-ing voice,” or “THIS IS MY SCA-RY RO-BOT VOICE.”

According to a recent performance review, the reason is because Livengood is very shy, and the composer "overcomes her deep shyness by imagining she’s talking in artificially inflated voices."
