The CIA has concluded that Russia hacked the election in order to help Trump. Unfortunately, we must therefore consider the President-elect’s take on the reports:

It wasn’t one of the biggest Electoral College victories in history, so presumably that’s another red-herring lie to distract from Trump treating the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States like it is some rogue blogger to be cast to the trolls.

Previous governmental hacks by Fancy Bear haven’t always been so, er, subtle. In 2008, when Russia was invading Georgia, they replaced the website of Georgia’s president with pictures comparing him to Hitler.

Fancy Bear hacks Europe, too

Anonymous U.S. intelligence officials said their “warnings” to Europe about Russia’s cyber-habits (something that is well-documented there, by the way) were too late.

Already, German intelligence agencies say that Fancy Bear, the government-linked Russian hackers of the DNC and so much more, have made attempts to “destabilize” Germany’s upcoming elections.

Congressional leaders call for probe

With Mitch McConnell—who previously “dismissed” this information from the CIA during classified briefings—now on board, it looks like there will be a Senate probe into the reports of Russia’s hacks, along with President Obama’s “full review.”

And what will actually come of the probe, aside from millions of dollars spent and C-SPAN-record-breaking ratings? Are we cynical to say probably nothing?

Why should we trust anything going on with this story? Why is the CIA any more credible than the FBI? Why are either of them considered credible at all?

This is, honestly, an example of where Trump’s voters were right when they wanted to tear the whole system down, drain the swamp, etc. The problem is that Trump is obviously not the one to deal with any of this. Anyway.
