We love to hear from our readers, but we rarely answer hate mail unless it’s clever, so send your clever hate mail, your gift certificates and money orders, dye packs, show tickets, and vintage champagnes. All will be accepted with thanks.
Email, however, sometimes goes unanswered. We receive lots of it, we read every message, but we do not have time to answer everyone. Please accept our apologies if you do not hear from us. Our receptionist is on leave.
For all general feedback, press inquiries, technical issues, shout-outs, hoot-n-hollers, inquiries that are just difficult to explain, and so on and so forth, email us here—we’ll be happy to hear from you:
If you want to send in a letter for us to consider publishing on our Reader Mail page, you can! Please, however, note the following: Letters must be exclusive to The Morning News, and may be edited for length. Authors will not be contacted if their letter is published. All letters must be signed. No attachments, please:
All submissions to The Morning News must be previously unpublished. When people ask us what we’re looking for, our advice is to read through the last couple weeks of TMN. What we’re not interested in are personal rants, short fiction, shopping guides, poetry, academic papers, personal diaries, travel journals, or anything you’ve published on your blog. Regular columns such as the Non-Expert’s Desk are reserved for staff members.
TMN only reads pitches from writers it has accepted work from previously. Writers new to TMN should submit a draft of their article by pasting it into an email (no attachments), and also include any links to other work. All submissions or pitches should be accompanied by the writer’s complete contact information. Simultaneous submissions are OK as long as we’re notified immediately if the story is accepted elsewhere.
Should we wish to publish your piece, you must know and acknowledge the following:
