The Morning News Tournament of Books X

Believe it or not, it’s time to gear up for the 2014 edition of The Morning News Tournament of Books.

You may know it as the Rooster, the Grandaddy of Bracketology, or March Madness for Books—or, for that matter, the book contest that regularly predicts the winner of the Pulitzer Prize.

But this year we’ve got a brand new nickname: March 2014 will be the Tournament's 10th anniversary, and that means we’re calling it: ToB X.

For now, we need you to help us complete our Long List of potential books to be considered for the final cut. All you need to do is submit your favorite work of fiction from 2013 before next Monday, Dec. 2.

Also, now's the time when we take applications to fill the Reader Judge slot for 2014. To be considered, tell us in an email, in less than 100 words, why you’d make an excellent judge for this year’s tournament. Make sure you include your contact information. Deadline is 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time, Dec. 2, 2013. Email talk@themorningnews.org, subject: ToB X Reader Judge.

This is now closed. Thank you for participating.
