And now a brief chat with one of our newest Sustaining Members, Maggie S.

When did you start reading TMN?

I started interacting with TMN in (I think) 2016 because of the Tournament of Books. I'm not sure how I found it that year, but I was instantly obsessed, and have been a follower of the Tournament from the moment I knew about it. I am newer to the other aspects of TMN, I think that I subscribed to the daily email in 2018. I can't remember what led me to that decision, but I am so glad that I made it.

Thanks! Can we ask, why do you subscribe? I read it for all the fascinating things you guys collect that I might not see otherwise. (My professional media diet is heavily medical/science news slanted, and you guys get me things that are interesting and important and not covered in my daily commute-length exposure to NPR.) I recently went on a digital detox and unsubscribed from everything... and the TMN email is the only thing that I missed enough to make me want to resubscribe. It was that realization combined with my love of the tournament that made me decide that I needed to be a member, and the discount on the awesome 2020 ToB T-shirts is what made today the day that I actually followed through.

Fantastic! And for those who don't know, all Sustaining Members get 50% off everything in the TMN store.

Boatloads of thanks to Maggie S. and all of our supporters.
If you recently joined, thank you. If you recently reupped, thank you. And if you haven't yet, please consider becoming a Sustaining Member or making a one-time donation. Every bit helps. 🚣
