And now a brief chat with a new Sustaining Member, Lincoln!
Hi, Lincoln! So, when did you start reading TMN? Early 2002 according to an old email I found, which is the best record I've got.
What brought you in the first place? I believe it was a link from the sidebar of Lia Bulaong's now-defunct blog at cheesedip.com. Back then, every blog maintained a list of links to other blogs and sites that they found interesting, and The Morning News kept popping up on my favorite blogs. Soon thereafter I became a regular reader.
Wasn't there a T-shirt involved at some point? I once won a trivia contest and accepted as my prize a TMN T-shirt in the only remaining size, a men's small. In my email reply to Andrew, I joked that if the shirt didn't fit, I would have a reason to make a tiny friend. I still haven't made that tiny friend, which I regret.
Wait, there's still time! Looking back now, I realize that TMN has accompanied me for most of my adult life and introduced me to some of my favorite authors, online and otherwise. To say how grateful I am to everyone that has worked on and contributed to the site over the years is only to underscore my shame at having not supported it financially earlier. I'm glad I didn't wait any longer. Thank you for all that you do!
Enormous thanks to Lincoln and all of our supporters. If you have a moment, please consider becoming a Sustaining Member or making a one-time donation. 👕
