And now a brief chat with a new Sustaining Member, Karen M.
Karen, hi! When did you start reading The Morning News? I can't remember when I started reading TMN, but it's been over a decade. I found the site randomly when I was working in DC at an association management firm, so I think that dates back to the early aughts.
That's so cool. Out of curiosity, what keeps you reading? You have a magical way of surfacing content that I find extremely interesting and engaging, covering a wide spectrum of human existence.
Any special reason you decided to support today? Why did I decide to support? Guilt lol. It's the NPR syndrome and premise that yes, I am a consumer, and yes, it will cost me quite little to support something I'd be sad about if it didn't exist anymore.
Oh wow. Well, we really appreciate it. Your support—and the support of other Sustaining Members—is how we're able to keep this going. I love TMN. I use the Tournament of Books for my annual reading list, gift list, and recommendations. Thank you for what you do. It's entertaining, informative, and super interesting—all of which are remarkable feats in an age of uber content generation.
