And now for a brief Q&A with our latest supporter, Miles G.
Hi Miles! When did you start reading TMN? Probably back in 2002. I was 16 and really into web and graphic design, so I feel like I found my way to TMN through one of those old school graphic design blogs like k10k or Coudal. Or it may have been Paul Ford. I was (and still am) very into his writing. Anyway, been here a while!
What keeps you coming back? I definitely took a few years away from TMN as the algorithmic nature of modern social feeds came to prominence. But, recently, I've sought out non-algorithmic collections of information like newsletters, blogs, and curated collections of links.
Why did you decide to support? It never crossed my mind, but, when I saw the message to consider monthly support, it was an obvious yes. TMN has turned me onto ideas and information that has helped me in concrete ways (like giving me access to information that boosts my career) and nebulous ways (like expanding my perspective on politics, art, and technology). And it's been more than 20 years!!
Thank you Miles, and to all our supporters. Please consider throwing your support our way as well and become a Sustaining Member today!
