And now a brief Q&A with our newest supporter, Eileen D.!

Hello Eileen! Can you tell us when you started reading TMN? Back in the blogging heyday of 2006 or so.

Ah! Some longtime readers may have seen the Ikea walkthrough (from 2004!) that we linked in today’s newsletter. Time is a flat circle, indeed. So, Eileen, what brought you to TMN back then? I think I found TMN first, I was a grad student at the time, had a blog as a sort of creative outlet and hobby, and regularly read TMN and a few other sites I liked.

Anything TMN-adjacent you want to share? I love the ToB as a way to discover modern fiction. My favorite book from the past decade is Station Eleven, which I learned about via the ToB.

Wonderful, thank you Eileen! And relatedly, here’s a treat for any ToB fans who made it this far: We’re releasing the 2022 Tournament of Books long list on Friday.
