While perusing Radiohead’s Dear Air Space blog
the other day, I came across an entry by someone calling himself Colin, who implored readers to seek out a new album by someone or something calling themselves One Little Plane. After a brief and painless amount of research, I discovered this Colin is right: There is a solo project by a certain Kathryn Bint going by that name, and the first album, Until
, came out in the U.K. on Monday. The music is sometimes overly precious, but there are also strains of a Breeders-ish insouciance which are always welcome. As much as I like the noodly guitars, the thumpy bass, and the harmonium chorus, the song Sunshine Kid made it on this list for one thing: by signing off with a bicycle bell.
