Why Hip-Hop Slang So Obscure?

In Cody Weiwandt’s article, in which he supplies the tough answers to Jadakiss’s hard questions, he gets a couple of things wrong. “A burner” refers to a firearm, not a joint. The jail sentence Jada protests is presumably for unlawful possession of a firearm.

“Under a dime” means under $10, in the same way a dime bag of weed costs $10. Jadakiss is referring to the large chains like Best Buy that sell new releases often for $9.99 or less—in which case see the answer to “Why is the industry designed to keep the artist in debt?”
